rerna, who assumes the role of Swatilekha in the popular television series “Hum,” has demonstrated remarkable versatility as an actor. In the show, her character, Swatilekha, is brilliantly portrayed as a relentless villain, constantly engaged in devious schemes and plots in her quest for power and control. However, what truly sets Prerna apart as a performer is her ability to breathe life into this nefarious character and make her actions believable on screen.

What truly warms the hearts of fans and industry insiders alike is Prerna’s description of the special bond she shares with each person on the set of “Hum.” In an industry known for its high-pressure environment, Prerna’s ability to connect with her co-stars, crew members, and production team on a personal level is a rarity. She speaks of the camaraderie and genuine friendships that have blossomed behind the scenes, painting a picture of a harmonious and supportive work environment. Check it out!

How has your character and the show transitioned from the episode you have entered in?

“From marrying Raghav or from the time my marriage was supposed to happen with Shivendra to having accepted the reality then making the tough decision to marrying the younger brother just to be a part of the palace. Then the greed for the crown of the kingdom. My character had literaly taken a turn from murdering to lying, scheming with Samar against the family members, ultimately make her husband the Number 1 in the family. We all have just come a long way to get her dream out of her greed. Then later she finally recognises her love for her husband, she is found vulnerable.”

The bonding between Raghvendra and Swatilekha, people spoke a lot about it.

“It was a proud moment in real to watch but in reel it was looked a wrong way, absolutely wrong of Raghav. The audience perspective was really interesting to watch. They are not treating the character as black and white, it is positive to watch that way. It came as a surprise. When Swatilekha was slapped by Surili, the audience liked Swati more which was interesting again to watch. I didn’t see that coming my way as well.”

How did you prepare for your character when you signed the show?

” I watched the original version, the turkish version of the show from which it is adapted after I was offered this show. The moment i watched quite a few episodes of the show, I was completely hooked to the show, I pretty much worked at my body language because she was royal, all about her lifestyle, she was educated abroad, mainly the styling helped a lot by Anuradha, the hair and make up also because it was simple and classy as a character which brings out the exterior self well done. The creators team is also very good at making the character important in various ways. The writers and the dialogue made it much easier with the dialogue delivery as well.”

Between Prerna and Swatilekha, what are the similarities and differences?

” Poles apart actually, nothing is similar honestly, I personally don’t dress up much, simple dressing and simple clothes. You can ask any actor on set, they will say the same, be it Tina too. I’m a different person altogether.”

How will you describe the offscreen bonding among everyone?

” Everyone actually, I have a different yet special bond with everyone. I have defeated Karanvir in Ludo like most of the times. Tina is a sweetheart, she is protective of all actors around her, it is like a feast everyday because of her. She keeps yummy food all the time and have lunch always together. If her hair is not in place, opposite shoulder is on so I fix her hair. She helps me the same way, that’s our bond. The brothers, Mohit, the youngest one, we are buddies, we travel together from Bombay to Umargaon even with Manvendra, the middle one. Aabhas and I pull eachother’s leg all the time. We all are honest to eachother before the scene, how will we improve it. I share a very different bond with Jay, I can’t stop laughing during the shoot, In the start I control but now it’s not possible. With Kitu ma’am, I make reels, we both are Sindhis so discuss about the dishes.”

If you have to choose one as BFF on set, who would it be?

” Everyone is special actually, because I hang out with the reel brothers the most due to the travel then Mohit and Sujay, They are my BFFs.”

Lastly, what should the audience expect from your character, Swatilekha in the coming episodes?

” There’s a lot coming, the scheming goes on. You will see Raghav and Swatilekha growing closer. She will still be against Surili, she wishes to be Rani maa’s favourite but miserably fails and Surili is the favourite. So she continues scheming against Surili.” she continues giggling.
