Donal Bisht on being a part of Tu Zakhm Hai: ‘I feel blessed to play a role that allows me to push my limits as an actor

Actress Donal Bisht, part of Yash Pattnaik’s Tu Zakhm Hai web series and Mamta Pattnaik on the MX player, expresses her delight at the way the show is taking shape with audiences. The actress, who won the hearts and praises of audiences around the world with her outstanding performance, calls “Kavya” the most challenging role of her life, which she played brilliantly. Exuding positivity, she acts like a breath of fresh air, lighting up the screen with her performance.

“The whole story revolves around a hostage and a kidnapper with a love underneath and his undeniable healing powers. As a psychologist, I can understand the complexities of the human mind while in a dark embrace of love, resilience, and strength.

It ends with me falling prey to the “demons” and taking you on a winding journey that will leave you wanting more.”
“Kavya’s character is so captivating as she is viewed by these gangster workers as being held, hostage. A journey from being an independent, humble girl-next-door turning 180 degrees to becoming a strong woman who puts everyone in the shade, Tu Zakhm Hai was one of the most complex characters I’ve ever played,” she says.

She adds: “The response was overwhelming and I’m glad that I was able to convince Kavya. My fans from all over the world are calling and texting me to ask about the next season of the show.”

Speaking about the title and the story, he says, “I think ‘Zakhm’ is the reason for many of our actions as human beings and history highlights how they can affect lives, emotions, and relationships. The script and the plot are par excellence, that’s why I chose this project because I believe in making projects that I love.”

Donal adds, “Growing up, I always wanted to be a psychologist, and my background in the field helped me find the right nuances. It’s a very “rewarding” role, especially since I had to play a lot of emotions, there are 10 people on the show, and with all 10 people, Kavya behaves differently. His equation with each character is completely different. So when I hear audiences love the many facets of the character, that’s all you want to hear. When you put your passion into a project, it hits the right note.

Nevertheless, the show as a whole is an experience set in the dark world of romantic suspense that will leave you hooked and wanting more.
